My Heart is Broken

My heart is simply breaking for the family of Sasha Krause.  If you are unaware of who Sasha was, she's a young 27 year old Mennonite woman who went missing on January 18th from Farmington, New Mexico and her body was found a few days ago here in Arizona.  She had been murdered.
So many us outside and within the Mennonite community had been praying for her safe return. I really want to be angry with the person or persons responsible but, it's their eternal soul that's at risk now. So my prayers will be first for Sasha's family as they prepare for her funeral. I will also pray for whoever did this and that the person will confess to the police. And finally I'm going to pray for the person's soul( or I should say, the willingness to pray) that they will come to know Jesus. I believe this is something Mennonites are known for and I'm guessing Sasha's family and friends have already forgiven the person responsible. Only God can help do that.
So please pray for her family and if you feel led, for her killer also.

  1. I had been following her story a bit as well. I was so sorry to hear of the outcome, her family must be devastated. Definitely offering prayers for comfort and peace, and for the killer for repentance and to turn himself in *because we all know pretty much it was a he. :(

  2. Oh Regina, I hadn't heard of the outcome of this and I had still been praying for Sasha. I'm so very sorry for everyone involved. I will continue praying, just in a different way.
    Blessings and love,

  3. Oh, dear Lord, have mercy. I saw this somewhere online a while back, and it stayed in my mind. I am SO sorry to hear that she was murdered. It is SO hard to understand the why in this because she seemed to live such a Godly life. All of the promises of protection that are all throughout the Bible will be raised as such hard questions in the minds of all who loved her and even all the ones who were affected by the hearing of this sad, sad end to such a mysterious situation. There are no words. Her poor parents (if they are still alive). I am so thankful you posted this to let us all know but so, so heartbroken right along with you.

    1. I believe she led a very godly life. I don't understand God's ways and why He allowed this to happen. But perhaps someone may somehow come to know the Lord through this senseless tragedy.

  5. Thank you for your compassionate heart, Regina. Sasha wrote so many beautiful poems and songs before her death that mean so much considering what she went through. I think it is wonderful how God can use that now.
