Just Pondering

Last Sunday New York held several gay weddings and this triggered many Christians many Christians to come out to protest. Personally I think instead of spending their Sunday protesting I think the time would have been better spent at church services praying and worshipping the Lord.
Many Christians are anxiously awaiting and hoping for Christ's return soon but fail to remember all the scriptures that point to signs of Christ's return.

Rom 1:23 And changed the glory of the uncorruptible God into an image made like to corruptible man, and to birds, and fourfooted beasts, and creeping things.






Rom 1:24 Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonour their own bodies between themselves:





Rom 1:25 Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen.





Rom 1:26 For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature:





Rom 1:27 And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet.





Rom 1:28 And even as they did not like to retain God in [their] knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient;





Rom 1:29 Being filled with all unrighteousness, fornication, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, debate, deceit, malignity; whisperers,





Rom 1:30 Backbiters, haters of God, despiteful, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents,





Rom 1:31 Without understanding, covenantbreakers, without natural affection, implacable, unmerciful:





Rom 1:32 Who knowing the judgment of God, that they which commit such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but have pleasure in them that do them.


These are the things that have to happen before Christ's return. And there are many more scriptures besides these that point to signs of Christ's return. So instead of getting all up in arms we Christians need to be rejoicing that soon our blessed Savior will be returning. Yes we have to deal with some unpleasant things in this life but God is in control and He knows what He is doing!

I'm sure people will be offended by this post considering those who know me know I'm very quiet and soft spoken. It is not my intention to offend but to share from God's Word.

So Tragic :(

You know I  don't know anything about Amy Winehouse's music. I didn't even know really what she looked liked but I had heard of her because of her troubling life.

Now she is gone into eternity and at only age 27. It's always such a tragedy when such young celebs pass away because oftentimes it due to addiction and even more tragic when they die without Christ. I'm not going to speculate what happened to her but right now her family could really use some prayers. There will be a lot of gossip, half truth and all out lies surrouding Amy's death and her family will need lots and lots of prayer support to get them through the coming days.

No Subject

I'm rebelling and refuse to put a title on my blog entry : D
I really don't have a title because my entry isn't about anything particular. I guess that's the beauty of blogging. It doesn't really need to be about anything.

So my cucumber plants have grown cute little "cucumber babies" that will grow into full size cucumbers in a few weeks. We are looking forward to a nice harvest and will share because the plants are producing many  of these babies. I also noticed out tomato plant is finally in the stage to bloom flowers. Tomatoes with cucumbers sprinkled with a little salad dressing! Yum Mo!

Tim and Miranda worked on the side yard today digging up weeds. We are the weeds family because the weeds are taller than I am! We really have no excuse for allowing the weeds to get so out of control.  It's just sheer slothfulness and it doesn't make for good Christian witness I'm afraid.

Perhaps we can get it done enough to be able to get to our fruit trees which are done for the year. We had a decent harvest enough to make jam and some fruit to put up for fall and winter.

Who Are We to Judge??

So many people are so upset over the not guilty verdict for Casey Anthony. Who are we to judge whether she did it or not? Only she and God knows the truth of what happened to Caylee and if she is truly guilty she will face God's judgement. If she is truly not guilty then we need to pray the real person is found. So what should Christians be doing now? We need to be praying for Casey. She is very hated right now and the media is having a field day with this whole thing. She was found guilty of some lesser counts so will probably still face jail time

The media was obsessed with the case and as one angry reporter on CNN said Casey has become a "celebrity" and she compared the case to OJ Simpson, Robert Blake and a couple of other high profile celebrities who were aquitted of crimes. The woman kept going on and on about Casey being attractive and she a celebrities and blah blah blah.

The sad truth of the matter is the media couldn't stop talking about  it. They are the ones who made her a "celebrity". Even that horrible gossip show 'Showbiz Tonight" was talking about it. Since when does a baby's murder trial become entertainment? The media seemed more obsessed with this case than they did with Susan Smith the woman who drowned her babies nearly 17 years ago.
Okay I just needed to vent a little. This whole case is so sad.

CVS Extreme Couponing Experience

A couple of weeks ago CVS had ZhuZhu pets hamsters on sale at 5 for $10 which two of my girls have gotten into since they bought a set at our annual used curriculum sale last month.
I noticed CVS had a bunch of deals where you get EBs(Extra Bucks) for buying certain items which we needed such a body wash, deodorant etc. By the time I had purchased all the items I had earned $17 dollars in EB's plus a 30% off coupon for our next purchase so the next time we went to CVS we got the five hamsters, some iced tea and a magazine and after using all the EBs and 30% off coupon my grand total was 55 cents! I couldn't believe it! I'm like where is the TV camera!
So my advice, watch and save those EBs from CVS. You next purchase could be free!

 Some of you who are on Conservative Anabaptist/ Mennonite Yahoogroups or are part of a Conservative Mennonite church might have heard the news story regarding Timothy "Timo" Miller.

Please pray for Timo and his wife and children. This has got to be a very difficult time for them and they need Christian prayer warriors who will commit to prayer each day. And pray for Lisa Miller one of the parties involved in the case( no relation to Timothy Miller) and her daughter Isabella that the Lord will protect them wherever they are. As you will read they have fled the U.S.
If you have ever read  the book A Song for Your Honor( available at www.clp.org) you know what Lisa is going through and what Timo is experiencing.

I would recommend not reading the secular news versions of the story because we know the press has a way of twisting the truth and making us Christians look like brainwashed, bigoted idiots.
