What a Blessing!

Last weekend our homeschool group had it's annual used curriculum sale. Those are always fun because you see people you haven't seen in awhile and we can get curriculum at reduced prices.

We also have a table set up for free items. These can be anything from curriculum, toys, books, household items, anything . I had told myself that I would try to avoid that area because I can over do it and end up with way too much stuff. Like I need more clutter!

Well I did end up in the free curriculum area while I waited for one of my daughters to buy a book and while I was waiting I saw this box sitting on the floor. I was curious as to what was in the box so I decided to check it out. I saw that it had some No Greater Joy magazines and a few Above Rubies magazines. As I was digging deeper in the box I saw for me the most wonderful treasure, back issues of Keepers at Home magazine! I couldn't believe it! I was so excited because I have been wanting back issues for the longest time. They were from Winter 1999- about 2008.

KAH is my absolute favorite magazine because the articles are so encouraging (and sometimes convicting!) and I share their doctrinal beliefs.

I read one article a few days ago on complaining. I felt like I had the sense knocked into me after I read it. I don't feel very Christlike when I complain. Believe me I have had my share of things to complain about.

However I have found that when I complain it doesn't change the situation not one bit. It better to just deal with it with a merry heart or better yet, give the whole situation to the Lord no matter how small the matter is.

WARNING: Some Parts of This Post Is Controversial!

I wonder what would happen if men had a march similar to the recent women's marches demanding their right not to be exposed to half dressed women in the workplace, in church, on the street, on magazine covers, etc? What if they marched demanding their right to be treated like men and not a child by their wives and girlfriends? To be allowed to be a dad instead of their child being killed in the womb? To not be portrayed on television and movies as idiots?

What would happen if they  wore (like inappropriately shaped hats the women wore on their heads to prove their womanhood ) on their heads inappropriately  shaped hats to prove their manhood?

Satan has been telling lies to women ever since The Garden:

" I can wear this see through dress! It's my body!"

"It's his problem if my low cut blouse causes him to lust"

"It's not a baby, it's tissue! It's my body!"

"Motherhood degrades women"

"We don't  need to submit to …

I married the love of my life. Back then I couldn't see 25 years into the future. I never imagined having three daughters.  We didn't anticipate struggles on both our parts but we are so grateful for the way the Lord has brought us through. Things are not perfect between but we continue to trust God and know that He can work things out.
And now for your giggling pleasure, here are a few pictures from our wedding. This was before I was into a conservative plain lifestyle. Sorry for the blurriness.

The Simple Woman's Daybook

For Today

Looking out my window  ...It has stopped snowing. It's been a mixture of snow, hail and rain today and it is very cold and windy out.
I am thinking... about whether I should prayerfully and gently confront a sister in the Lord who is being dishonest about something, though I hoped I had imagined it, sadly today I discovered it was true.☹
I am thankful... We made it home safely today after going into town and getting caught in the snowstorm. God is good!
One of my favorite things... is to read Keepers at Home magazine

I am wearing... a purple flowered dress covered up by my apron and black slippers

I am creating... well I will be sewing up some hanging veil head coverings. Some of the ones I have are getting stained. My middle daughter suggested I save my white veils for church or other church related activities. My husband suggested that I keep the stained ones for when I clean the house. They are so wise in their suggestions…
