Been Awhile

I realize it's been awhile since I posted. Ive been busy with homemaker stuff so didn't have the time to post updates.
Did some canning and sewing which kept me rather busy. I'm praying about whether to take a sewing class again in the fall. I rather enjoyed it when I took it in the spring but it was rather uncomfortable at the same time being with people who aren't Christians. Sometimes the words that came out of the women's mouth was shocking. But I will continue to be a light amongst the darkness should the Lord opens up the doors for me to take the sewing class.
That being said I still have so much I need to learn about sewing so I can make my cape dress. I have a wonderful pattern but I'm not comfortable making it on my own. Then I'm also wondering if only ladies who are familiar with constructing a cape dress and know the principles as to why it is made the way it is would be better equipped to help me.

Ideally I would like my cape dress to be my sewing project for class but I'm thinking I need to complete the sewing lessons in Christian Light workbooks first. One of the lessons in the third book of the sewing curriculum is sewing a baby or small doll dress. I'm thinking once I master that project, then perhaps the cape dress will be a breeze.

WARNING: Some Parts of This Post Is Controversial!

I wonder what would happen if men had a march similar to the recent women's marches demanding their right not to be exposed to half dressed women in the workplace, in church, on the street, on magazine covers, etc? What if they marched demanding their right to be treated like men and not a child by their wives and girlfriends? To be allowed to be a dad instead of their child being killed in the womb? To not be portrayed on television and movies as idiots?

What would happen if they  wore (like inappropriately shaped hats the women wore on their heads to prove their womanhood ) on their heads inappropriately  shaped hats to prove their manhood?

Satan has been telling lies to women ever since The Garden:

" I can wear this see through dress! It's my body!"

"It's his problem if my low cut blouse causes him to lust"

"It's not a baby, it's tissue! It's my body!"

"Motherhood degrades women"

"We don't  need to submit to …

I married the love of my life. Back then I couldn't see 25 years into the future. I never imagined having three daughters.  We didn't anticipate struggles on both our parts but we are so grateful for the way the Lord has brought us through. Things are not perfect between but we continue to trust God and know that He can work things out.
And now for your giggling pleasure, here are a few pictures from our wedding. This was before I was into a conservative plain lifestyle. Sorry for the blurriness.

For Today

Looking out my window  ...It has stopped snowing. It's been a mixture of snow, hail and rain today and it is very cold and windy out.
I am thinking... about whether I should prayerfully and gently confront a sister in the Lord who is being dishonest about something, though I hoped I had imagined it, sadly today I discovered it was true.☹
I am thankful... We made it home safely today after going into town and getting caught in the snowstorm. God is good!
One of my favorite things... is to read Keepers at Home magazine

I am wearing... a purple flowered dress covered up by my apron and black slippers

I am creating... well I will be sewing up some hanging veil head coverings. Some of the ones I have are getting stained. My middle daughter suggested I save my white veils for church or other church related activities. My husband suggested that I keep the stained ones for when I clean the house. They are so wise in their suggestions…
