Fridays This and That

Happy Friday dear ones. I trust you all have had a good week. We have had a lot going on here.
Tim has had sciatica pain in his back but the pain medications he's taking is helping.
I'm dealing with hand pain which is another reason I've been mostly absent from blogging and replying to comments. I've had pain for a number of years but it seems to be getting worse so my doctor had me do some bloodwork to check for lupus and to find out if I'm still prediabetic or if I have full diabetes. Well I'm still prediabetic but my bloodwork came back postive for lupus. Because I had TTP( severely low platelets) back in 2007 I knew I was at risk for lupus. I've been referred to a rheumatologist so I hope to get a call in the next couple of weeks.
The pain makes it hard to type and do my normal everyday activities not to mention my crocheting is affected.
That being said I'm taking a two week break from blogging. I want to give my hands a break. I'm taking gabapentin at night for pain but it has unpleasant side affects such a loopiness and it seems to make me crankier than usual.

Before I go I want to post this picture of the planter I bought. When you see it, you will see why  I just love it!

I love teacups! I'm growing sweet mint and the mint will make the most delicious tea!

Have a great weekend friends. I'll be back around July 11th Lord willing. Have a great 4th of July to my USA readers and have a great Canada Day to my Canadian readers!

  1. Oh my dear Regina. I’m so sorry you are having such horrible pain in your hands. I hope the rest break helps until you can see your new doctor. I will be in prayer for both you and Tim. I have had sciatica before and know that it is no fun at all. Have a lovely 4th and take care of yourself.

  2. Oh, Regina! I am so sorry to hear this! May God heal you and give you relief. He is bigger than this. LOVE this song ~ I will be praying for you.

  3. Lupus...such a painful disease. So sorry to hear that your blood came back positive and my prayers will certainly be with you, dear lady.
I had a client years ago in hospice with that disease, but watching her and seeing her sweet attitude was such a blessing.
    God bless you.

Your tea cup planter is darling. ♡

  4. I do hope you are feeling better soon.
I will keep you in my prayers.

  5. I hope you're able to get the pain under control.

  6. Love the teapot planter! It is beautiful! I will continue praying for you and family dear friend.

  7. Regina, I am so sorry to hear of the lupus diagnosis. You will be in my prayers. I hope that the doctor will be able to give you something for the pain that doesn't give you the side effects that the gabapentin does. I take that for my fibromyalgia. Hugs.

WARNING: Some Parts of This Post Is Controversial!

I wonder what would happen if men had a march similar to the recent women's marches demanding their right not to be exposed to half dressed women in the workplace, in church, on the street, on magazine covers, etc? What if they marched demanding their right to be treated like men and not a child by their wives and girlfriends? To be allowed to be a dad instead of their child being killed in the womb? To not be portrayed on television and movies as idiots?

What would happen if they  wore (like inappropriately shaped hats the women wore on their heads to prove their womanhood ) on their heads inappropriately  shaped hats to prove their manhood?

Satan has been telling lies to women ever since The Garden:

" I can wear this see through dress! It's my body!"

"It's his problem if my low cut blouse causes him to lust"

"It's not a baby, it's tissue! It's my body!"

"Motherhood degrades women"

"We don't  need to submit to …

I married the love of my life. Back then I couldn't see 25 years into the future. I never imagined having three daughters.  We didn't anticipate struggles on both our parts but we are so grateful for the way the Lord has brought us through. Things are not perfect between but we continue to trust God and know that He can work things out.
And now for your giggling pleasure, here are a few pictures from our wedding. This was before I was into a conservative plain lifestyle. Sorry for the blurriness.

For Today

Looking out my window  ...It has stopped snowing. It's been a mixture of snow, hail and rain today and it is very cold and windy out.
I am thinking... about whether I should prayerfully and gently confront a sister in the Lord who is being dishonest about something, though I hoped I had imagined it, sadly today I discovered it was true.☹
I am thankful... We made it home safely today after going into town and getting caught in the snowstorm. God is good!
One of my favorite things... is to read Keepers at Home magazine

I am wearing... a purple flowered dress covered up by my apron and black slippers

I am creating... well I will be sewing up some hanging veil head coverings. Some of the ones I have are getting stained. My middle daughter suggested I save my white veils for church or other church related activities. My husband suggested that I keep the stained ones for when I clean the house. They are so wise in their suggestions…
