Hymn-Mother's Prayers Have Followed Me

I know this is late but I was busy today. I hope you all had a wonderful Mother's Day. This is a wonderful hymn I found and I dedicate it to mothers who have prayed for their children into adulthood.

http://www.hymntime.com/tch/htm/m/o/t/mothersp.htm

I grieved my Lord from day to day

I scorned His love so full and free,

And though I wandered far away,

My mother’s prayers have followed me.

Refrain

I’m coming home, I’m coming home,

To live my wasted life anew,

For mother’s prayers have followed me,

Have followed me, the whole world thro’.

O’er desert wild, o’er mountain high

A wanderer I chose to be,

A wretched soul condemned to die,

Still mother’s prayers have followed me.

Refrain

He turned my darkness into light,

This blessèd Christ of Calvary,

I’ll praise His name both day and night,

That mother’s prayers have followed me.

So Sad Indeed!!

As a Christian I find it rather sad when someone dies and if they weren't following Christ and living a godly life they will be doomed in eternity. Even if a person is evil and dispicable, God loves that person and wants him or her to repent of their sin.

Hymn of the Week-Joyful, Joyful

We sing this at church sometimes and it is so pretty!
http://www.hymntime.com/tch/htm/j/o/y/joyful.htm

Joyful, joyful, we adore Thee, God of glory, Lord of love;

Hearts unfold like flowers before Thee, opening to the sun above.

Melt the clouds of sin and sadness; drive the dark of doubt away;

Giver of immortal gladness, fill us with the light of day!

All Thy works with joy surround Thee, earth and heaven reflect Thy rays,

Stars and angels sing around Thee, center of unbroken praise.

Field and forest, vale and mountain, flowery meadow, flashing sea,

Singing bird and flowing fountain call us to rejoice in Thee.

Thou art giving and forgiving, ever blessing, ever blessed,

Wellspring of the joy of living, ocean depth of happy rest!

Thou our Father, Christ our brother, all who live in love are Thine;

Teach us how to love each other, lift us to the joy divine.

Mortals, join the happy chorus, which the morning stars began;

Father love is reigning o’er us, brother love binds man to man.

Ever singing, march we onward, victors in the midst of strife,

Joyful music leads us sunward in the triumph song of life.

He is Risen Indeed!!

I met to get today's hymn up earlier so here it is Christ is Risen Today http://www.hymntime.com/tch/htm/c/t/l/ctlrisen.htm
Christ the Lord is risen today, Alleluia!

Sons of men and angels say, Alleluia!

Raise your joys and triumphs high, Alleluia!

Sing, ye heav’ns, and earth, reply, Alleluia!

Love’s redeeming work is done, Alleluia!

Fought the fight, the battle won, Alleluia!

Lo! the Sun’s eclipse is o’er, Alleluia!

Lo! He sets in blood no more, Alleluia!

Vain the stone, the watch, the seal, Alleluia!

Christ hath burst the gates of hell, Alleluia!

Death in vain forbids Him rise, Alleluia!

Christ hath opened paradise, Alleluia!

Lives again our glorious King, Alleluia!

Where, O death, is now thy sting? Alleluia!

Once He died our souls to save, Alleluia!

Where thy victory, O grave? Alleluia!

Soar we now where Christ hath led, Alleluia!

Following our exalted Head, Alleluia!

Made like Him, like Him we rise, Alleluia!

Ours the cross, the grave, the skies, Alleluia!

Hail, the Lord of earth and Heaven, Alleluia!

Praise to Thee by both be given, Alleluia!

Thee we greet triumphant now, Alleluia!

Hail, the resurrection, thou, Alleluia!

King of glory, Soul of bliss, Alleluia!

Everlasting life is this, Alleluia!

Thee to know, Thy power to prove, Alleluia!

Thus to sing and thus to love, Alleluia!

Hymns of praise then let us sing, Alleluia!

Unto Christ, our heavenly King, Alleluia!

Who endured the cross and grave, Alleluia!

Sinners to redeem and save. Alleluia!

But the pains that He endured, Alleluia!

Our salvation have procured, Alleluia!

Now above the sky He’s King, Alleluia!

Where the angels ever sing. Alleluia!

Jesus Christ is risen today, Alleluia!

Our triumphant holy day, Alleluia!

Who did once upon the cross, Alleluia!

Suffer to redeem our loss. Alleluia!

Good Friday- The Old Rugged Cross

What can I say?  Satan was defeated that day when Jesus died on that cross. Thank you Lord for your sacrifice!
http://www.hymntime.com/tch/htm/o/l/d/oldruggc.htm

On a hill far away stood an old rugged cross,

The emblem of suffering and shame;

And I love that old cross where the dearest and best

For a world of lost sinners was slain.

Refrain

So I’ll cherish the old rugged cross,

Till my trophies at last I lay down;

I will cling to the old rugged cross,

And exchange it some day for a crown.

O that old rugged cross, so despised by the world,

Has a wondrous attraction for me;

For the dear Lamb of God left His glory above

To bear it to dark Calvary.

Refrain

In that old rugged cross, stained with blood so divine,

A wondrous beauty I see,

For ’twas on that old cross Jesus suffered and died,

To pardon and sanctify me.

Refrain

To the old rugged cross I will ever be true;

Its shame and reproach gladly bear;

Then He’ll call me some day to my home far away,

Where His glory forever I’ll share.

Maundy Thursday

This day represents The Last Supper. Here is today's hymn marking that day,
http://www.hymntime.com/tch/htm/b/h/o/bhonthee.htm
Bread of Heav’n on Thee we feed,

For Thy flesh is meat indeed:

Ever may our souls be fed

With this true and living Bread;

Day by day with strength supplied,

Through the life of Him who died.

Vine of Heav’n, Thy blood supplies

This blest cup of sacrifice,

Lord, Thy wounds our healing give,

To Thy cross we look and live:

Jesus, may we ever be

Grafted, rooted, built in Thee.

Conder’s original text:

Bread of Heav’n! on Thee I feed,

For Thy flesh is meat indeed.

Ever may my soul be fed

With this true and living bread;

Day by day with strength supplied,

Through the life of Him who died.

Vine of Heav’n! Thy blood supplies

This blest cup of sacrifice.

’Tis Thy wounds my healing give:

To Thy cross I look and live.

Thou my life! oh, let me be

Rooted, grafted, built on Thee.

Palm Sunday Hymn- Hosanna Loud Hosanna

This hymn is my favorite Palm Sunday hymn
http://www.hymntime.com/tch/htm/h/l/h/hlhosann.htm

Hosanna, loud hosanna, the little children sang;

Through pillared court and temple the lovely anthem rang.

To Jesus, who had blessed them close folded to His breast,

The children sang their praises, the simplest and the best.

From Olivet they followed mid an exultant crowd,

The victor palm branch waving, and chanting clear and loud.

The Lord of men and angels rode on in lowly state,

Nor scorned that little children should on His bidding wait.

Hosanna in the highest! that ancient song we sing,

For Christ is our Redeemer, the Lord of Heaven our King.

O may we ever praise Him with heart and life and voice,

And in His blissful presence eternally rejoice!
