Jesus is standing in Pilate’s hall,
Friendless, forsaken, betrayed by all;
Hearken! what meaneth the sudden call?
What will you do with Jesus?
Refrain
What will you do with Jesus?
Neutral you cannot be;
Some day your heart will be asking,
“What will He do with me?”
Jesus is standing on trial still,
You can be false to Him if you will,
You can be faithful through good or ill:
What will you do with Jesus?
Refrain
Will you evade Him as Pilate tried?
Or will you choose Him, whate’er betide?
Vainly you struggle from Him to hide:
What will you do with Jesus?
Refrain
Will you, like Peter, your Lord deny?
Or will you scorn from His foes to fly,
Daring for Jesus to live or die?
What will you do with Jesus?
Refrain
“Jesus, I give Thee my heart today!
Jesus, I’ll follow Thee all the way,
Gladly obeying Thee!” will you say:
“This I will do with Jesus!”
Refrain
My life as plain conservative Christian wife and mom. My prayer is that this blog will be a blessing to all who read it. I will share the good and the bad because the Christian life can be hard sometimes.

Happy Sunday
I love Sundays and going to worship services. Today I missed church because I was in the church nursery. Being with the little ones is such a blessing to me.
I've been thinking a lot about my walk with the Lord. Doing a spiritual inventory of my life last year, I realized I made some mistakes that I don't want to repeat again this year.
Sometimes I think being a Christian is difficult at times. It is not easy at all standing up for what you believe and if a Christian voices their feelings about certain subjects that person is criticized. This is especially true if the Christian is a public figure.
Anyway, back to what I was writing about, I hold certain convictions that some Christians may not hold. I'm doing my best not to conform to the ideas of the world as Paul warns us about.
Unfortunately I know far too many Christians who have conformed to the world's ideas. More on this later.

Happy New Year!
Can you believe it really is 2012? Time sure does fly!
Well as usual I post some of my goals for 2012 that Lord willing I will achieve this year. Here they are in no particular order:
Well as usual I post some of my goals for 2012 that Lord willing I will achieve this year. Here they are in no particular order:
- Draw closer to the Lord by reflecting on what He has done in my life and the lives of my family members and by devoting more time to His word and prayer.
- Read the entire Bible in a year. This is over and above the assigned reading in the Beside the Still Waters devotion book and scheduled reading in 1 Corinthians when Pastor starts the series at the end of January. There will be a study guide with lessons that correspond with what he will be preaching on the following Sunday.
- Read one account each week of a faithful martyr from The Martyrs Mirror. Reading these accounts makes me appreciate the freedoms I have to worship the Lord freely without persecution. The stories also encourage my heart even though many of the accounts are hard to read because of the graphic nature described of their suffering.
- Get my house more organized and cleaned, Right now it is a complete mess but I hope to change all that.
- Improve my homeschooling skills
- Spend less time in front of the television. I'm really starting to really hate television so I'm hoping this to spend less time and I want to encourage my family to do the same
- Practice my alto recorder at least four times a week
- Do some sewing a least twice a month if not more. I'm afraid this is all I can realistically do. I don't sew very well but I want to try to do more sewing. This will help to increase my skills so that I'm not fearful of trying something new.

"Black" Friday Indeed
Greed! Materialism! Gotta have it at any cost! That is what Black Friday is really all about. It's I'm going to get what I want and if you get in my way, watch out mentality.
I just can't believe the terrible things I've been hearing about that's happened at some stores on Black Friday. A shopper pepper sprays customers so she can get ahead of them to get some cheap game system. Really lady? Is a game worth losing your family possibly forever because you will be in prison?
The guy who shot a shopper who refused to give up his purchases, because he was too lazy and/or cheap to go and buy his own stuff and the granddaddy of all chutzpa is the poor man who collapsed at a store and died while shoppers stepped over him instead of helping him. Did they think perhaps he was drunk and had passed out? At least some nurses finally came to his aid but by then it was too late.
This is what happens when people store their treasures on earth. Jesus warns us against such behavior. You can't take it with you folks! Wouldn't it be awesome if the popular stores like Walmart, Target etc refused to participate in Black Friday? Wouldn't it be great if all the stores did this?
They could do Cyber Monday instead or even just open at their regular hour and close a little later without having a gynormous sale. But unfortunately that will never happen :(

Thankful
Happy Thanksgiving! I'm so thankful for so many things. I'm thankful for my family. My husband and children are such blessings to me. I'm thankful for my father in law even though I don't always have patience with him due to his dementia it's always good to know the Lord has given him another day on earth.
I'm especially thankful for the Lord Jesus Christ for without Him I would probably be a mess.
Even though Thanksgiving is a day to say thanks, we need to be thankful everyday not just one day out of the year.

20!
Jim-Bob and Michelle have announced they are expecting their 20th blessing and I'm totally excited for them. The Lord has been so good to them by bringing baby Josie out of a life-threatening premature birth and now she is almost two. What a precious doll she is!
There are critics who complain about "overpopulation" and that we have too many people on the planet even though sadly people are dying everyday so I don't see how in the world they claim the world is over populated. I guess when Joe wants to propose marriage to Mary will he have to tell her they need to wait until they are senior citizens to get married so they don't have children? Will this make the population control "experts" happy?
Anyway, the Duggars are awesome role models and I wonder how many people have come to the Lord due to their ministry on the show? I know I have been inspired to have a calmer spirit when it comes to my children. I have learned to trust God in all things like they have done and know that God causes all to work for good. Even when things are hopeless God is there working to bring things to His glory.

Haven't Posted Lately
I apologize for not posting lately. I especially apologize for not posting the weekly hymns. So many things have been going on in my mind. I think I had posted that I have started to having singing as part of my morning devotional time with God. Some of the songs I have been singing involve bringing the lost to Christ and revival.
My heart yearns especially for all those of Hollywood who are lost. So many of them are counting on their money, looks and success to bring them happiness but unfortunately these people are truly unhappy. If only they would just turn their hearts towards God and repent of their sin.
Then there;s the OCCUPY movement who aren't making their cause any better by breaking the law. Such a fallen world we live in.
On a postive note our family through a $1.00 off coupon has been introduced to Nutella. Nutella is a hazelnut/cocoa spread that I told myself I would never buy such a product because I thought it was taste terrible. After seeing a commercial for it I thought I would give it a try. I got the coupon for $1.00 off and it happpened to be on sale so I bought it and my children were the first to try it. Can I say it was love at first taste? I tasted and so did my husband and we are now hooked on Nutella!
You use it on toast, crackers, whatever. My daughter Miranda said you can use it on a spoon! Yes I did take just a tiny bit with the sppon and ate it straight from the jar but because it has a lot of sugar we really won't be doing that. And though we really like the Nutella nothing beats good ole peanut butter!
